WHY WE DO IT?
After many years of helping women and families to survive, supplement their living and giving them handouts, we realized that we needed to actively move towards breaking the cycle of dependency and aids. We realized that we will have to keep on raising money to feed people and their families forever UNLESS we shift our strategy towards helping them to become self reliant, economically empowered and enabled to stand on their own and become productive.Most are willing to work if they can find one whist many are willing to start a farm, raise poultry chicken for sale, hawk fresh peppers or tomatoes, or engage in a profitable retail trade if only they have the required CAPITAL which in most cases can be as little just $50 US Dollars.
We have come to see the POWER it gives to WOMEN who are able to engage in simple trading and the sense of wealth & independence they express. Women have shown they they have the tenacity to turn their situation around and become stronger in raising their standards of living and that of their children and family. A little empowerment has proved to be a great tool for positive change.
